16ozPremium District Tartan
This is said to be one of the oldest of the tartans produced by Wilsons of Bannockburn, mentioned in an order in June 1794.
They apparently produced it during the days of prohibition (1746-1782). This is from the threadcount documented in Jamie Scarlett MBE's 'Tartan the Highland Textile' (1990). He took the count from a manuscript account book in the National Museum of Scotland, Edinburgh.
