The Ohuohu Greeting Card is inspired by the kui method of lei making (kui: to string pierced objects, as flowers in a lei). Lei is a symbol of aloha and giving lei is an extension of aloha. It can be given as a symbol of love, friendship, to celebrate, or even to honor someone. While creating this collection, it brought back a memory of lei-making with my cousin. The wind was gently blowing the smell of lei flowers and it felt like it filled the room.

Lei flowers used: p��kake, loke, pakalana. Although these lei flowers are not native to Hawai?i, they are local favorites and hold a special place in many hearts and memories.
